Event commencement

The Kidfinity and Beyond Foundation, Inc., spearheaded by its Founder, Ate Athalia Marie V. Suarez, held its Balik-Eskwela Kits Distribution at the Makati City Jail, Female Dormitory, on 16 August 2026. It was one of the events of the Knowledge and Inclusion for Development and Success (KIDS) Program, and its aim was to give the child beneficiaries educational support in the form of school supplies.

The event was graced by Congressman David “Jay-Jay” C. Suarez, together with Atty. Jazmin Deborah Yrreverre and Atty. Athena Christa De Mesa.

At 9:30 AM the mothers, who are Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), and their children gathered at the jail’s chapel, where Foundation staff checked attendance. The program began at 10:00 AM with a prayer led by Mr. Jeff P. Jumarang of the Foundation, followed by opening remarks from Senior Jail Officer I (SJO1) Cristina Labayo on behalf of Jail Senior Inspector (JINSP) Roselyn B. Rivera.

Ate Athalia’s message, in full

A very warm welcome to our children, parents, Makati City Jail Administration, our partners, and everyone joining us today. Welcome to our first Balik-Eskwela Kits Distribution.

Today is a very special day for us, because this is our first official event of the Kidfinity and Beyond Foundation. We created this program to show our love and support for our children as they prepare for another school year. We hope that the school supplies and the other things that we are giving today will be useful to you as you go back to school. They will help you with your studies, and be useful to you every day at school.

To all the children here today, I want you to remember that you’re not alone in your dreams. Many people believe in you, support you, and want to see you succeed. Keep learning, keep working hard, and most importantly, never give up on your dreams. Your dreams are important, and you deserve the chance to have a bright future.

We know that life is not always easy, and there will be challenges along the way. But I hope that today reminds you that there are people ready to help you, and who support you.

I also want to thank everyone who gave their time, their effort and their resources to make this program possible. Thank you very, very much. Your support means so much to your children and to their families.

And to our students: use your new school supplies well. Do your best at school, and always believe in yourself. Study hard, and don’t be afraid to dream big.

We hope that this new school year will bring you new knowledge, happy memories and new opportunities. Long live our young people! And always remember that Kidfinity and Beyond Foundation is here to support you, and believe in your dreams. Thank you very much, and welcome to our first ever Balik-Eskwela program.
